Do you not realize that SALT itself is potentially more harmful than studs and in actual costs/safety of public, studs are less costly!

Studs could have prevented this.... but roads are more important than lives! Babies are born everyday, right?

I think most of the garbage drivers are new residents who have no idea how to drive in the snow.

A decent percentage of snowmobile riders stud there tracks with big steel studs. I am not a proponent of those either. I like to rock the trails and lakes with my un-studded track.

So you think we can just skip the chemical all together?? Do you think everyone is going to get studded tires? We are not living in the bush. You realize this is a full fledged metro. Have you ever seen what happens to untreated roads (think St. Paul city streets mid snowy winter)? We HAVE to use chemical no matter if people use studs or not.

Sure, just go buy a 4x4 or an AWD vehicle. Money is no object, if you can't afford it, you should just be house-bound all winter, right? Talk about arrogant!
