Hey I am planning a nice camping trip for the fall with a good sized group of friends, ages 18-28, maybe about seven to ten of us. We're hoping to have a nice time, the legal aged adults will surely be drinking, we want a large fire and a full night of loud party and endless music playing around the fire... I am hoping to stay away from state parks, and a bit more into the wilderness, with a decent beach. Somewhere that we can skinny dip at four AM if we wish and no one will have a bother. A typical dream camping trip I suppose.

Any ideas? No where is too far north unless we start talking about Canada, haha.

There is some stunning scenery just up west of Duluth, I think.

There are the Boundary Waters as well.

Most of the northern half of the state is great camping country. I'd agree with staying away from state parks simply because they will not be thrilled with an all-night party and music. I'm not sure exactly how you go about finding somewhere secluded enough that no one will mind that. Maybe look for a privately owned lake-side cabin to rent?

Where-ever you go, just be a good citizen and make sure you clean up your trash and cans when you head out.
