^ fear monger.

The water is perfectly safe to drink or to use for cooking.
if it wasn't not believe me there would be a upraising and there is not.

It's not hard to install a good countertop filter.. I use these two items in conjunction

Watts 500315 Counter-Top Drinking Water Filter - Amazon.com

Omni CB3-SS6-05 Carbon Block Undersink Replacement Water Filter Cartridge - Amazon.com

Water tastes great for a long time. I admit to being spoiled by this setup but it won't stop me from swigging from bubblers and other water sources basically because I'm not that picky and just suck it up. The water that comes out of the tap at my apartment is quite nasty without a filter though. I can see why being paranoid and getting the water tested would be a good thing. However, lots of people don't know how to solve this water dilemma inexpensively and go and buy bottled stuff like aquafina which is a silly thing to do. Better off to just buy it buy the one or 5 gallon container if you're gonna buy it.
