Hello All,

I will be travelling from Rapid City to MSP on Thursday the 13th to visit some friends at the University of Saint Thomas for the weekend. I am pretty young so I was wondering if anyone could suggest some nightclubs and venues to check out. I hear good things about Aqua, Deja Vu, and First Avenue venues. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Also, how much is a ticket on the light rail from MOA to Downtown?

I plan to see the Holidazzle Parade too. Will I come across it if I am downtown at night anyway?

Thanks in Advance!

I can't help you with the clubs but are you 21 at least?

Lightrail tickets are about $1.50 depending on the time you ride. They are good for a few hours no matter how many times you get off and on.

The Holidazzle is right at the last rail stop. Plan to go early if you are going to ride the lightrail, it will be crowded.

Thanks. Is it pretty easy to find parking downtown? Do you have to pay at timed lots or can you park on the street? Any other fun events happening that weekend?

It really depends. The Holidazzle will bring a good number of people. You can find street parking depending on the number of people downtown and how far you want to walk and how much you want to search.
There is always ramp parking. Always. If you come in I-394 there are freeway exits emptying directly into the A, B and C parking ramps. It is convenient for nightlife as it is wedged between Hennepin and the Warehouse Dist.

If you're going out with friends who live in St Paul, I'd check out Grand Ave, there's a bunch of young, hipsterish bars/restuarants that are fun even during the week and especially if you go with friends. Downtown Msp I actually really like the lodge when they have live music which is frequently if i'm not mistaken. The 90's is a fun, clubbish venue thats probably more straight than gay........at least my experience. Brits is pretty fun too with some good drinks and usually good ambiance but a little more chill. Also, liquor lyle's in uptown is great. Probably my favorite all around bar in minneapolis. Variety of people, cheap drinks and a little hole in the wallish.

Thanks, I'll probably hang out along Grand too, beings I'll be so close. I always hear good things about Grand Ole' Days but sadly it's in the summer.

Thank You all!
