Curious? Of those here will you retire full time somewhere warm, or have you considered snowbirding?
Born & raised Minnesotan here- moved around the US a lot, we will most likely move somewhere warm and sunny full time, but at a minimum will become snowbirds. I love MN and all it has to offer but would ideally like to be away during the winters when we are able to. Thoughts?

admittedly, sometimes during the deep grips of winter I catch myself lingering at the warm temps being reported from Worthington and catch myself thinking..."what if?"

Have to admit Snow Birding doesn't sound attractive to me. Winter is part of what makes Minnesota so great.

We visit Florida every winter for a week or two every winter but that's all. I see a lot of people who live or winter there and miss their children and grandchildren a great deal.

We retired from Minneapolis to Door County Wisconsin. For us, the problem wasn't so much the weather as the passive aggressiveness. It wears you out after a while.

Not me. I'm heading north where there are trees. I can handle the cold just fine when I can get out of the wind. That's almost impossible in SW MN.

Retirement is far off for me but I see myself snowbirding at a minimum, and possibly evaluating wherever I snowbird to as a potential permanent home. If I'm no longer working, MN in the winter is not where I want to be. I'd rather be in FL or CA. MN really does feel like home for me though, so I think it would be nice to come back every year when winter is over.

It's all those giant fans on the Buffalo ridge that make it so windy!
