Are we crazy? Hell yeah. But it doesn't stop me from feeling like I am super awesome for going to run errands in a snow storm.

Really, there is a lot of weather out there. Few places have weather everyone would agree on. And the places most people would think has perfect weather costs 7 billion dollars for a 1 bedroom condo.

So are we nuts? Maybe. But there is a lot of nice things about living here...so maybe we are actually smarter and more sane then a good chunk of the country

I find living through challenging weather allows me to appreciate the all-too-brief periods of perfect weather all the more, rather than taking it for granted. And adversity breeds perseverance and innovation - good traits to have, doncha think?

BTW, $7 billion was last week’s rate; it’s $8 billion now.

DH was up early persevering and innovating with his snow blower. Super Retired Man! A Man! A Machine! A Blizzard! Epic.

Did you hear about the moron who kept sticking his finger with a sewing needle because it felt so good when he stopped?

I'm down in beautiful Sunny, warm, Sarasota Florida, 78 degree high, going to the beach for the 4th day in a row....if I can get a parking spot with all these Minnesotans down here taking up all our spots.

The odds of being harmed by a Hurricane in Florida are low if you live inland, and have a newer home. Building codes now require homes withstand 160 mph. Storm surges reach < 1mile from the coastline. Those who are living in older homes near the beach are fully aware of the rist they take.

The odds of your Dog being eaten by a Gator are nill unless you allow it to go to the edge of a pond.

Florida has 4X the population that Minnesota has, and Florida's growth rate is 2X Minnesota's, so Storms and Gator's are not keeping many people away from Florida.

I've seen a lot more Minnesota car tags down here this year than ever before which is why I thought I'd visit the Minnesota forum. Why the dramatic increase? Is it the weather? Is it worse than prior years?

I lived in South Texas for 15 years. I wouldn't trade you. Maybe when I am 60. But its too hot, to muggy, way too many floods, crime, alligators...it never felt safe and comfortable. At least up here, I get a good 9 months where I like or love the weather

I love it. Why? I have between the top of my head and tips of my toes roughly $300.00 worth of winter clothing which I have had for roughly 10 years. When I'm out there shoveling snow when it is about below 0 degrees or using my booster pack to start cars when it is 25 or 30 below I'm warm as toast and enjoying thinking about the money I'm making. Moral: Spend some of your vast wealth on some winter clothing. Then you won't have to spend your time bellyaching about the weather instead you can go for nice healthy walk daily.
I don't go near banks or stores when it is cold enough to need my knitted face covering on.

Just some more biochin. Ok winter is good. Keeps away creepy crawlers, scorpions, water moccasins, poisonous spiders, keeps fleas down etc .

But when your week has been filled with cars not starting, getting stuck in snow, and a accident involving a snowblower, ice & slip-n-fall and black eye and bloody nose, city buses not showing up to get to work then yes, I start to dislike winter. Maybe not the cold per say, but the hassles that come from it.

Bad week!!
