My wife and I recently got jobs in the Twin Cities--Maple Grove and Brooklyn Center respectively (we were working in St. Cloud, MN)---and we are trying to find a quiet community to live. Location-wise, Corcoran seems to be a good bet, but searching on-line I am not finding any apartments to rent in Corcoran. I know it is a smallish community (one of the main attractions for us), but I would imagine there are some apartments available to rent.

Can anyone help us? Are there apartments in Corcoran? Do you happen to know the price range? Also, does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get to BC from Corcoran? Any advice would be helpful. My wife and I know there are apartments a-plenty in Plymouth, Maple Grove, etc., but were hoping to enjoy a more quiet suburb (which is not to say Plymouth and Maple Grove are not lovely cities). Perhaps that is just wishful thinking.

Thanks all!

You're not going to find any apartments in Corcoran. Its pretty rural and all single family. Its a beautiful place and close to everything, I grew up there. Maple Grove(there are some nice more rural parts of maple grove) and Plymouth would be your best bets for apartments. Maybe Rogers or Albertville also. As for drive time its about 50 min. to st. cloud and about 25 to BC(with light traffic). I know there were a few house rentals on craigslist a few months back.

Can't think of a single apartment in Corcoran, although there could be a townhouse or two nearby. There are apartments, townhouses, and single family homes for rent in Rogers, which is very near. Do a search on Craig's List. Search for this listing: 801298705

There will be ZERO rentals within the City of Corcoran.
Look up its Zoning and Land Use. The City calls for all Residential Development to be on a minimum of 1 acre, as well as no R3 zoning which would allow for the construction of apartments and townhomes, which hasnt occured

Just so you know, there are rentals in Corcoran. I grew up there, there is a trailer park that has rentals as well as the "Downtown Corcoran" area... which consists of about 12 houses and a couple of bars with a commercial district tucked away behind the main drag. There is houses with developments that have less than 1.5 acres per house, I believe that law came into affect in the past 15 years or so, considering the neighborhood I grew up in about half the houses have less than that, but my neighborhood had housing from the 1960's-70's.

I can't think of much in Corcoran either. If you don't mind a slightly longer commute you could try Rockford, and we have apartments in Delano I know. Otherwise, think about a small house perhaps? Or townhouse? Craigslist is a great resource to find rentals.
