Icequeen2008 says --" I can't have satellite where I am"--

I sympathize.

I have DISH and am 100% satisfied.

We had to use their customer service last week and it was great. A person talked us through 2 problems we were having and got them corrected.

Cable companies could learn a lot from DISH when it comes to customer service.

Why not? Is there a line of sight issue at your location? I know that some landlords and homeowner associations try to illegally ban them.

Cable companies that lure in customers with six month low-rate service just to get you hooked and then zonk you over the head are horrible. Time Warner is one of those.

Some of these companies allow you to negociate, so it's worth a try. Bundled services can help too. I have High Speed Internet, Cable and Phone Service and my monthy bill is about 125 dollars. I've seen advertizements from some companies that offer locked in rates for the same but at a price of nearly 99 dollars.

I'm happy with my service provider so I can't gripe much, however I did a month ago. We didn't use to have DVRs available and I was devistated when I moved here. They make such a difference in your ability to live and be able to view TV as you wish. I got the run around for a year and gave up. A month ago the Provider released an article about buying another building for bill paying and a blew my lid off. A letter to the editor about them spending thier money on needless items and I couldn't even get a DVR. Well five days after it ran they called me to ask if I would like them to install one. Duh. How fast I asked? Be there in an hour.. And so it goes...

My Phone/Cable/Internet Provider is a local Co-op, West Central. Not only am I a customer, I'm a Member. They know me by name AND there is no "we'll be there between 8:00am and 12:00 noon two weeks from now" I used to get from Time Warner, They come out that day and right when they say so. What a difference.

The cost of my service may be a bit on the steep side but I LOVE my service. It's well worth it. The fact that it is a Cooperative makes all the differnece in the world.
