We're relocating to the Jackson area from Atl. We've settled on Ridgeland b/c of the proximity to downtown where my husband works. I see the majority of houses for sale right now are East of 55 and 51. It worries me. Before I let my irrational non-statistically correct fears paralyze me, I thought I'd ask ya'll!

The area of Ridgeland east of I-55 is where the vast majority of the people and businesses are located. Which can explain the "for sale" signs. It was just in the last 15-20 years that westward expansion began taking place.

Just take a look at Old Agency Village. It close to shopping, dinning and walking area. It just take a minute drive to HW and most of it is safety ( to my opinion).
