Bridges may get a little ice glaze occasionally, and of coarse any exposed pipes will freeze and burst if it dips below the low 20's at night, that's about all there is to worry about.

Depends on what you mean by Southern Mississippi.

If you mean Brookhaven/McComb/Laurel, where I'm from, snow happens about once every 12-20 years. It snowed once when I was a baby, I'm 24 now, and it snowed again not too long ago.

This past spring snow fell. Over here in Moss Point we didn't get any, but if I am not mistaken, Biloxi saw snow...as did Lucedale....don't quote me, but if I am remembering correctly, it happened. My kids were mad because they didn't get to see it.

Kind of like when we were in Arizona...never snowed...until AFTER we moved back to Mississippi....then the area we lived in got a lot of snow. Daughter was upset at that. LoL

But snow does not happen all that often towards the coast.

Thanks for your replies, SassyGirl and darylwi. I live in Nebraska currently, but, in 2006, I came down for a week just after Thanksgiving to Waveland to help do some post-Katrina cleanup and rebuilding. I got so attached to the area in just one short week, I didn't want to come back to Nebraska. I'd move to Waveland (or Long Beach) in a heartbeat, but I would have to get employment and a very affordable 1-bedroom apartment lined up first.
