Agree with STL. Your ancestors were on the wrong side of history, and while that's in the distant past, I find the continued celebration of people fighting for the right to own slaves quite sickening. It's certainly nothing to be proud of and never will be.

Mizzou did shut down a couple times in the last 10 years due to snow though. IIRC it was in 2006 and then again in 2011. They hadn't in about 20 years before that point. I don't blame them as the storm in 2006 was bad enough it had quite a few of the plows end up flipped in the median on I-70.

Don't bother with him, he's a typical preachy liberal Meeneesoootan from "The Cities" who tries to inject his socialist spew into every conversation whether it's called for or not. He won't rest until he changes your opinion as like most liberals he honesty believes his viewpoint is the only correct one and it is an affront to him that anybody disagrees with him. I unfortunately work with quite a few of those people as I am temporarily living in SE South Dakota about 15 minutes from the MN border. Iknow the type very, very well. Guys like MSP stream across the border on I-90 and try to turn South Dakota into West Minnesota, all the while taking advantage of no state income tax and much lower unemployment. They meet about the same reaction there with the local South Dakotans as this guy does with you here. Most of the locals would permanently lower the "road closed due to snow" barricades across westbound I-90 from MN if they could.

First off, Confederates were a minority in the state . And don’t try to use that Union soldiers came from other states B.S., because history clearly says over 100,000 Missourians fought for the Union. It alsosays 40,000 fought for the Confederacy, not 60,000. Imbored can claim to be Southern because he/she is from a part of the state that actually is Southern.B ut he/she cannot speak for the rest of the state. Brushrunner can claim to be a Southerner, but he cannot speak for most of Missouri. His ancestors were among a minority of Missourians that for the South. The majority of the state in most respects is not Southern. The northern half is unquestionably Midwestern, the southern half is part transition, part southern. And to say Missouri as a whole is Southern is to say that Columbia, Jefferson City, ST. Louis, and Kansas Cityare all Southern, which is laughable. IF KC and STL are the South, then so areDes Moines and Omaha. So ah suggest y’all stay relegated to the southern parts of the state, because that’s where the real South is in Missouri.

Correction, get out of the southernmost quarter of the state. Stop trying to push Missouri as a whole state into the South. You're wrong and you can't do it. Do us all a favor and stay down in Branson. Keep your Southernness out of the rest of Missouri...we don't want it.

Just glad the Confederacy had it right by having us represented on the Battle Flag like it should have.

Oh my ancestors settled in Moniteau County same area they released their slaves that still carry the family name to this day.

Actually I think we should stop allowing rude northern tourists from Kansas City and st. Louis into Branson. All my friends agree. Yet you continue to come here. Tourists from little rock and Memphis are much more friendly.

Where do think most of the money in this state comes from? Branson wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't for KC and St. Louis maybe you should show them some gratitude for driving all the way down there and spending their hard earned money.
