We moved to Clever Missouri in October of last year from Colorado. There is not much going on in Clever and no jobs. I was looking at Marshfield and see they need school bus drivers. Couldn't get on in clever they don't have a bus trainer. Hopefully Marshfield does. Anyway if you live in Marshfield can you tell me how you like it. We are looking at at country properties. What stores do you have there also? What ever you share will be appreciated.

Have you tried getting a job in Nixa, Billings, Republic, Marionville, or Springfield? All would be quite reasonable commutes.

If you do not like Clever I am not sure Marshfield has that much more to offer. Marshfield has a Price Cutter grocery (the same as Nixa, Republic and Springfield), a Wal-Mart Super Center, and very little else. It will be much farther to other shopping than Clever as you will have to go either to Southeast or Northwest Springfield.

Incomes are about 25% less in Marshfield than in Clever.

There are a lot of rural properties nearby at prices that are fairly affordable.

Marshfield is a nice community. It has the typical stores like Wal-mart, price cutter, Orschlens, MFA, McDonalds, Sonic, Taco Bell. The school system is pretty good. I had a son go to elementary and middle school. Webster county is low tax. There are not many jobs in Marshfield especially full-time jobs.

I would agree with most of what you read above. Marshfield is a nice community that some feel is resistant to change and stuck in the past, and others are just fine with that. It is primarily a bedroom community to people working in Springfield or Lebanon. If you are wanting to live in the country but find work close, I would second the Lebanon suggestion. It is surrounded by many smaller communities that will have minimal, if any, shopping, but will allow you to live where you aren't sharing a yard with others. And Lebanon is nearly always looking for employees, especially welders. If you want to live in Webster County and work in Lebanon, you might look at Conway. Very small community but sits off I-44 with quick access to Lebanon, Marshfield and Springfield. Good luck with your hunt.
