I think my rural MO friends may find this a little humorous. Hog wild: Police shoot, kill 200-pound boar in Pinellas - Bay News 9 (http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2009/10/19/534977.html?title=Hog+wild:+Police+shoot,+kill+200-lb.+boar+in+Pinellas - broken link) This is inside a major city in the general area of St. Petersburg where snow birds will be soon descending upon.

Creative way to help solve a piggy problem here. Will other states follow suit? Manatee County opens feral hog hunts to children - Bay News 9 (http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2009/10/19/535096.html?title=Manatee+County+opens+feral+hog+h unts+to+children - broken link)

Ok I see where they do alot of damage. But I was hunting in an area that has both Hogs and Deer.Seemed the damage Hogs do is over rated.I mean there was Crop Fields of Beans and Corn doing just fine.

Just my .02.But maybe the Conservation Department can't make money off them the reason they are so down on them.

How would you feel about those hogs if those were your crops just sitting there waiting to be munched on?

Those porkers are a really bad deal we don't need.

Ok when I was you I had around a hundred Hogs in the brush only place they made a mess was in the brush where it is cooler.I've found this to be true most places I hunt.Where I was over the weekend there was a 40 acre field of Clover nothing bothering it but a Hog Wallow just inside the Timber.

I'm not saying they won't bother some crops but if you know they are in the area plant in Fenced area might be easier than trying to kill the Hogs.

Watch this video about hogs in Tx.

YouTube - Feral Hogs: The Pig Problem in Texas

The hogs weren't in the clover the day you were there. We both know what will happen once they go there.

Fencing is usually a failure because of the cost to make a fence they cannot get under and a major portion of crop ground is rented or leased.

I agree that everyone maybe a little over alarmed in Mo at this point.
Myself i doubt that the hogs will ever be a major problem in Mo. When you ask the guy that just lost 80 acres of corn to hogs then i think he will have a different attitude than i.
