I was pleased to see Holm win. It was time for Ronda to try a slice of humble pie. Has she been interviewed yet? I wonder how she will express herself about Holm.

Yeah, I am hoping it humbled her some.

But in the back of my mind, I get the feeling she'll come back as loud-mouthed and trash-talky as ever. Some never learn humility.

But she refused to touch gloves at the start. And there was one opponent, whom she just walked away from without a hand-shake or hug. After the Holms fight, she did hug Holms, who said something to her that she nodded at. So, her attitude seemed more calm afterward.

It didnt take much for Brock Lesnar to be UFC champion. MMA is a gimmick, a joke, tonight was another embarrassment for mma, all of the boxing fans are laughing right now, you don't even have to be a boxing fan or even a fan of sports to understand how embarrassing it is for other athletes of different sports to win fights in mma. Ronda doesn't deserve a rematch based on her performance. it wasn't a split decision, or a controversial decision. It was a one sided fight that ended with a KO.
LOL... if that is the case, then boxing is exposed once again, considering the fact that Holm was a kickboxer who moved into boxing.

Of course, anyone who understands the grappling game knows that Holly's key to keeping the fight standing and imposing her standing game was to counter Ronda's takedown game with some brilliant takedown counters that she developed by working with her wrestling coaches.

Here's a good breakdown of the grappling that kept Ronda from working her game:

Seeing RR coware from the cameras during her airport arrival was pretty pathetic. I was hoping for a stronger representation being that she does like to present herself as all world.

Does this mean no more "once in a lifetime" promos that I kept hearing in reference to Rousey?

I think part of the problem with crowning Rousey this dominant fighter so early was that womens MMA in particular has to have a pretty shallow bench of quality fighters due to the fact that the sport is relatively new compared to other sports. The number of women currently in the sport is small I would assume which would mean it is more likely one or two fighters could dominate everyone else in the sport. Thirty years down the road their might be five or ten times as many women getting into the sport which would make it much harder for one or two fighters to dominate the rest.

This is so true. When someone is the trailblazer in a sport, which no doubt Rousey in the woman's division of MMA is, it puts a tremendous unseen burden on that person. I think Rousey knew who she was to the sport which is why she was out in front of the camera so fiercely promoting the sport. She was set to to fall hard if she lost which she did, but that's the animal of being a trail blazer.

Her legacy will only be determined by her future, not by her career to this point. She will always be considered a great MMA fighter, but Holm tarnished that reputation with many now thinking Rousey is a one trick pony.

Blame her training and coaches, blame her getting caught up in the promotion aspect - Rousey just wasn't prepared. But is she honestly wants to continue the MMA path over Hollywood for now, her comeback will show who she really is. If she comes back and wins out with her career, then I think her greatness will be restored in full. If she loses again, then what you say is 100% true in that at the time of Rousey's career there just weren't enough fighters to equal her.

I think she is done. She has enough money and other opportunities, and her ego won't let her get beat again. She will blow it off as 'her heart wasn't in it', she was too busy doing movies or talk shows or whatever, when reality is..she finally went up against someone with real fight/ring experience, dozens and dozens of fights.

If this girl caught her with a punch thats one thing, but she was not only severerly outskilled but when she did get her go-to judo hip toss position, holm stuffed it and slammed her.
Not saying Rousey coudln't win but, its going to take more than a new coach and a few months boxing lessons..This Holly Holm by all accounts is still learning too, and has a much better camp.. and only going to be better herself.

I don't think Rousey can beat Holm in a rematch. Holm is simply a superior fighter. She's bigger, stronger, smarter, more experienced, more versatile, and more talented. She has shown a great deal of class in victory and this is refreshing to see. Interesting that it took a Boxer turned MMA fighter to annihilate an MMA fighter like Rousey. I applaud and admire Holm. What an incredible fighter and human being. I'm a big fan of hers now.

It will be interesting to see how Rousey responds or if she returns.
