i am not surprised really, the man is a freak athlete, there are not many men of any age like him physicly.
i agree though i expect showtime gets another couple of fights out of him and thats it. he is already older then randy and coleman.
he did fairly well, he looked a little lost when it came to trying to end the fight, like he wasnt sure how or what to do. then again he isnt a wrestler, he is a TKD guy who got in with a good camp.
He donated his purse anyway. I'm sure he doesn't care.
my favorite sports radio station, 1310 the ticket out of dallas, did an interview with him at media day for the super bowl...
he's one of the most humble and sincere athlete's out there...he did mention that mma isn't about the money to him, obviously...but $600?? hell, that's the kind of purse one would recieve at some side show mma events! unbelievable...
rigas, how do you think that worked out?? what kind of side deal?? it wasn't ppv, so you think they paid him some kind of advertisement commission b/c of his following?? i would think most of the young mma fans out there didn't even know he was a heisman trophy winner and a hall of famer!
i am sure he got some sort of bonus, no win bonus or anything but there is no possible way a man who has made millions over his life time would do anything this dangerous for $600 regardless of a donation. as an example, fedor is rumored to have a side deal to pay him the majority of his pay in his country so he doesnt have to pay the extra taxes here in the usa. (or japan as it used to be) i believe musasi has a similar deal.
this just proves how easy it is in mma, try that in boxing and it won't work, you need best skills to make it there, no nfl player or wwe superstar can do this in boxing
