Randy Couture vs. James Toney at August's UFC 118 in Boston? (Updated) | MMAjunkie.com

pretty much teh latest word (un official) is he will face randy couture.
this fight will have very little stand up, as randy is going to clinch, push him to the cage, he MIGHT dirty box a little, he will hook a leg and trip, land on top and either pound on toney till the ref pulls him off, or he will pound on him until he turns over, randy takes his back and chokes him, maybe even to sleep considering toney "aint tappin" in his words.

good, this is good, once Randy tries a takedown and Toney throws an uppercut, the fight will be over.

LMAO!!!

What is sad is you probably are unlearned enough in MMA to actually believe this.

BTW,why does a person with a dislike of MMA and a love of boxing spend so much time in the MMA forum? Is it because the boxing forum has so few fans that the 3 posts a week over their just don't cut it for you?So you are forced to come over here and troll just to escape the mindless boredom of the hopping boxing forum?

What are you talking about? I like Anderson Silva, GSP, Rashad Evans, Fedor Emelianenko, Lyoto Machida and a few others.

Are there 2 Hypnosis's?The one I responded to is continually posting stuff like this.

"MMA is more like Pro Wrestling now.

Guys get title shots after only a few fights, and if they lose they get the rematch quickly.....

It takes true skills to make it in boxing, no gimmicks. They don't have to have ladies in bikinis at the weight ins to attract more fans, that's something wrestling and mma is known for doing. Keep up the good job guys."

I think this is exactly what will happen in this one.

To win, Randy better jump him quick and keep very very close quarters. Toney has an evil connection ratio. Toney could variably win this fight via knockout. This could be an interesting fight.

I agree.....James Toney doesn't have the stamina to grapple with Couture for 3 rounds. Maybe Couture will try to prove something to Toney and beat him at his own game.....We'll see

I agree. Toney also plays the game of getting in close and shifting the angles to get open shots. That's fine in boxing, but will be dangerous in this one.

randy "got back to his roots" in his last fight with coleman. i think he sticks to those roots.

toney has a history of being out of shape, and randy has a history of never getting tired.

toney better PRAY randy wants to beat him at his own game (no way randy tries but hey the boxing apologists/troll can believe if they like). randy is as well prepared and game plans every fight to a t, and while i consider him over rated, he knows his opponents and their weaknesses and this will be no different.
