I'm all for downtown development but this ugly A%% thing does not belong near the historic Bienville square not looking like that ! That is an I-65 service road hotel not a historic downtown hotel !

Keep in mind, the rendering is from the east perspective. There won't be surfacing parking in front of the building.

I'm sort of with you PC but I think you have to imagine it in Bienville Square. Like the road would be smaller and buildings behind it. The rendering is set sort of in a suburban landscape.

Although I do agree. Doesn't fit and should be taller

The site is surrounded by three and four story buildings, so it doesn't need to be any taller. After all, the hotel will only have 90 or so rooms. What would be great is if Cowart and Company preserved the trees and landscaping fronting Conception Street.

Yeah I know that , it would be impossible to have a front parking lot in that location. It's the basic generic design of the building that is sickening. Downtown Mobile is far from being Generic

The same developer did a good job with the downtown Hampton but he really slipped on this one and I fault the city for that.

Yeah, would definitely be nice if they had gone with a more historic look. It really wouldn't take much either.

I think this is just a generic photo used from earliest promotional purposes and here it is due to how screwed up internet journalism is. (do you ever see or read anything that is totally correct)

If not it is indeed horrible to foist upon the city.
