Hi All,

I'm looking for a little help. I'm trying to help out a friend who has an 18 year old son who wants to experience life away from the parents for a while. He would like to spend some time out west, preferably Montana. Here's where the help comes in...can anyone tell me how he could go about locating employment. Here in NC we have a state employment security commission that lists most available jobs here in the state. I've googled and can't find anything similar to that in Montana. He's really interested in working on a ranch but construction would be fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM or post.

Thanks so much

www.jobs.mt.gov (broken link) would be a start. Each area has a job service where you can register. You can also check the local newspaper want ads. Bozeman has the www.bozemanddailychronicle.com (broken link) and there is the Billings gazette. You may also want to check areas that are up in the northwest corner. There is Whitefish, Kalispell, etc. The newspapers can be accessed online as can the job service listings. Don't know if it is too late to apply for the service companies for the Glacier and Yellowstone Parks. Good luck. There are always construction job openings in the summer and there should be ranch jobs available too. Pay here is not what it is in the east.

Thanks for the info. The pay is not really an issue. He's young and just wants to spread his wings a little...oh, to be young again...never!

If you want to be by Glacier Park there is bigmt.com or dailyinterlake.com. There is usually employment either in the park or on the mountain, or the MT job board not to mention Lc Staffing for temps.
