Dont know what's wrong with it. It's an 89 Mercury Grand Marguis LS. Less than 60'000 miles. Has gas, battery is good, starter is good, solenoid is good. got antifreeze.... just wont start. Acts like it wants to but just doesnt. Fuel pump is working.. Had 2 people look at it and they dont know whats wrong with it.
Check your electronic ignition module.
If that is out you don't get any spark to the plugs and you don't have ignition.

Had that happen a couple of times.

would that be what they also call a modulator valve? under some kind of glove looking cover with the plug wires coming out of it???
That part is probably about 50 bucks... but.... I was told that to take it loose was a pain.. cause then you have to reset the timing. I dont know how to do that.
If it was just a matter of taking it off and putting one back on.. I could do that. Resetting the timing.. ummm not for me.
I can check/fill oil, change/check battery, change/check fuses, change a tire, fill with fluids ... blah blah.. but thats about it for my mechanical abilities. LOL

wish i could win just enough at lottery to buy a good used pick up. ok... just a little more than that.. lol

HA! HA!..... car is running.

Got hold of hubby in Holland (7000 miles away) via skype. Took laptop out to car. Opened hood. He told me to take the glove off of the distributor... unclamp the cap... clean the contacts and wipe inside of cap.
Replace all.. then try to start car.... Viola! car started first try.
