Took ski lessons with the kids today at Great Divide in Marysville..

I'm 43 and I just found some muscles I had forgot about since, oh, about 23 years of age.

Ouch.

That is all. I'm taking a bath in a minute. Have a great week ya'all.

Oh no!! Should we send help?

I tried skiing once. I realized right away that I had screwed up. Now water skiing is a different story. Did a lot of that in my youth. I'm way to smart now days to do either one again.

So what did you think? You going to go out and do it again, or go out and just watch the kids?

I was about 25 when I started skiing. I know what you mean, except I think I'd given it up by 43. It was bad enough in my twenties!

Are your kids small or grown? We (wife and I) started both of ours skiing at around age 5 -- as soon as they could hang onto a rope tow. Of course they left the bunny slopes behind almost immediately. They were too short for the chair lifts and had to "hop" to get into them or they'd get knocked down. Once one hit my son, who was riding with me up an advanced slope. I grabbed him under his arms so it wouldn't hit him in the head and drug him along, thinking the operator would stop the lift. He didn't! Thirty seconds later he was dangling 20 feet above the slope and I was still struggling to pull him in with me. Finally made it. Damned lift operator!

Anyway, it's a great family sport -- expensive but fun.

I think I'll keep at it. The kids are 12 and 10 and of course they picked it up quickly. Me? Err..gonna take a bit longer, lol.

I told them if they like to ski, then they will need to save $$ to help offset the cost. They seem to agree with that so far..

Anyway- gotta rub some more ben gay on the bones..

Tell the kids to plan on working at the resort if they still want to ski or board when old enough. That's what my nephews and niece all did. That way they'll ski free.

have a good soak in the Ben-Gay! LOL

I remember skiing one year (I don't remember where) but the lift we were on broke down and we were stuck dangling up there for a couple of hours.

Fine, fine, fine! But keep the hell away from trees!

Skiing Survival Tip:

Always ski under control. (This from someone who gave it up 15 years ago due to not being in good enough physical condition to follow that advice any longer.)

Have fun, stay safe...

I like the advice in the '80's movie "better off dead"... Just point your skis downhill, and when something gets in your way.... TURN! lol
