Greetings. I am considering moving to the area and was curious as to whether or not there is a Live Country Music scene in the cities and towns. Are there venues like Honky-Tonks and Dance Halls that feature Traditional Country Music for patrons etc.? I am a musician and have an opportunity to move to Montana, but want to make sure there will be some places to get musically involved with bands or jams etc. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Wow. Yes there are.

I used to cowboy a bit on a ranch in Colony Wyoming. We used to go up to Alzada Montana to a local bar that had country music. Guy singing was a black guy, which was unheard of in Montana. His name was Charley Pride. Now I dated myself. haha

Yes, there are lots of bars with local talent. Some make it bigger, some don't. But they are all good.

When I was in high school I lived across the street (well, kitty-corner) from Charley Pride when he was still singing in nightclubs in Great Falls. Us old folks and our reminiscing, haha.
