This one is about 100 miles west of Helena.
Types of intentional communities - Communities Directory

Most of these are still forming or attempting to in other parts of the state.
Communities Directory Online

There is a listing in Wolf Creek about 40 miles north of Helena but you'd have to read the write-up to think about whether there is any chance it could work for you and the owner / leader or not.

There are others of different types that you might get wind of, if you search around. These are just the ones who have chosen to list with this mainline site.

If you are serious about it, be careful with everything, ask a lot of questions, don't be in a rush and assess and re-assess what you want and how well a place / community works for you.

Sundog Ecovillage
Wellspring Community in Paradise Valley Montana (I suspect you can exclude this one as it is a bizarre "healing" and possible "yuppy" intentional community which looks expensive)
Behold, There Will Come New Meadows (this looks like a dead end, as well... )
icdb.org - Mutual Aid Society of America [MASA]
Yanan Worker's Commune

Some more detail on that Mutual Aid Society of America one:

I don't know if they got that off the ground, but you can follow up on it.
