I don’t doubt these sort of things are happening out there.
Imo, an unconstitutional law isn’t a law.

There’s the line, pick a side.

Totally agree with that. I'd guess a very large part, likely more'n half of all laws on the books violate the Constitution.

Makes you wonder who would be able to arrest the Sheriff? I don't remember the particular's on it, but the Sheriff is the senior law enforcement in the County and even if the feds come in, they have to ask the Sheriff to do anything. The Feds do not have jurisdiction on any case there. I think it has to be the Attorney General of the state that does it.

Montana Sheriff Says Threats Of Feds Are "Purely Fictitious" : Freedom Outpost

Site says it's another fictitious internet hoax..

Quote:
Sheriff Hoffman was kind enough to return my call and respond to this email. He said that he has been flooded with calls and emails that are asking about this. He will be issuing a formal statement he told me, but until then he wants the public to be aware that the above email is false.
“There was never any threat leveled against us,” Hoffman says.
“We have a good working relationship with the Federal agents in our area,” he continued. “There has been no threats from federal agents.”
He then concluded by stating “The email information is purely fictitious.”
There is certainly enough real issues in regards to gun control legislation at the Federal and state level that are verifiable and serious enough without resorting to simply putting out falsehoods.

He's made a very clear and concise journalized statement regarding his appreciation of the 2nd amendment.

Heh, interesting. Well, hoax or not, I think it's a vital issue -- what happens when the Feds try to enforce some unconstitutional law? The local sheriff may be We The People's last-ditch defense... which ones will have the balls to stand up to 'em?? What happens when the Feds try to take down that obstructing sheriff?

I've heard of no proposals of such a tactic.

I think you will see a lot of hoax type material in the upcoming few months. The Sheriff's association got together and there are noe 340 Sheriff's that have signed a pact that they will not pay any attention to a gun ban and that it is the right of it's citizens to keep arms.

I am actually surprised that there hasn't been more hoaxes like this. Maybe there is and I just haven't heard about it.
