Which State is More Scenic MT or WY (Missoula, Bozeman: live, trees)

I have never been to either Wyoming or Montana, but I hear both are scenic. I was wondering which state is more scenic? Also, what are the most scenic things or places in Montana?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All anyone can do is tell you what they like.

First of all, I have never been to Wyoming. I have a very good friend who was born there (Dubios I believe) and he speaks highly of the state. I have another friend who has worked in Gilette and he said it was cold and desolate. The pictures of Jackson Hole are incredible.
I have been to Montana many, many times. I own dirt in the Swan. My in-laws own a spread in the Bitterroot. My brother lives in Missoula and my father lives in Eureka. I have been to most of the areas west of the divide except the Bozeman area and the Dillon area. My favorite areas are, in no particular order, Glacier Park, Swan Valley, Flathead Lake (Bigfork, Woods Bay), Bitterroot Valley (although the population growth has exploded in the last 25 years).

You really can’t go wrong anywhere you travel in Montana. The first time I went to my future in-laws place I commented that it was like going to Yosemite and no one was invited.

Scenic ? It will be hard to get everyone to agree on that one. I'm biased because we are in Montana.
All I can do is show you a photo of a bit of the scenery close to us like this river.

Wyoming...forget it. I went to Rock Springs....and would have run away with the circus if I had grown up there. That place is nothing but rocks.

Ya see the 'notch' in that mountain ridge (background, above the trees)? That notch is right exactly above the place we lived a few years back. The water in the foreground of this picture is known locally as the "Swimmin' Hole".

Yeah, kind of like Pompey's Pillar, Wolf Point, Miles City, etc. You compared one town in Wyoming?

Wolf Point? That is way better than Rock Springs. There are a few trees in Wolf Point.

Must admit, aside from beer runs to Wyoming, back when the drinking age was 18 there, and we could get cases of Mickey Big Mouths, and kegs there...used to cruise to Evanston all the time from Bear Lake.

Have spent limited time in Wyoming. But, I like it there. Something great about wide open road. I am just partial to Montana....

Well, Wyoming has Grand Tetons/Yellowstone & Montana has Glacier; Wyoming has the Big Horns & Montana has the Little Belts..... so I call it a toss-up!

That's like asking "which beer is better? Coldsmoke or Moose drool?" They're both great beers, but I prefer Coldsmoke.

It's all preference, and you can't go wrong either way- Take in enough and you'll be drunk!
