I know quite a few people who live there without complaint.

Helena smells? I'm heading out now to try to catch a picture of town in fresh snow. If I can figure out how to load a pic, I'll show you where I live.

Well, I have only lived here 6 months but I love it. It is an adorable little town and the people are super friendly.
I have heard people say that people aren't friendly here but I have to disagree, that has not been my experience at all.

Default These Posts

It's so funny to read these posts, good and bad, regards Helena. For bing the capitol, it's a quaint city. There's lots of politics as elsewhere. It's always who you know not what you know anywhere. Helena supports a lot of people, mostly government workers, duh, it's the capitol. Yes, high real estate and taxes for Lewis & Clark county and city dwelling. As you venture out of town the real estate is lower, considering everything in MT is "gold". The housing bubble hasn't really burst here. I live just over the county line into Jefferson County. Much better in taxes. Montana City is NOT a rich persons area. There are some nice places, then there are a few who have a better living income that have built really nice places. There are deer downtown and all over. What do you expect? They know where the food is. Cats and bears? well as the city spreads out into the hill and mountains you have to expect that. Duh...where do you live?
I am happy with Helena as to what it offers. It's not a bad little capitol city..I've seen worse!!
