I have briefly reviewed some of the threads in this forum. I do have some additional ?'s in regards to relocation to the Butte area. Any and all resopnses would be appreciated.

Let me give a little background about myself and my family, so as to help you all help me. I grew up in a copper mining town of Kearny pop. 2,000 in south-central Arizona my whole life. My wife grew up in Tucson. I have worked for the AZ Dept of Corrections for the last ten years. We have 5 children. Obviously, growing up in the area I did, I can recall getting snow once that dusted the saguaro cacti, total freak of nature event.

Working for the DOC, we have lived in Winslow, which can get cold, snowed there once, and the rest of my time was in Florence which is the same climate that I grew up in, Florence being only 30 to 40 miles from Kearny on the old dirt road. We relocated to Kingman 2 years ago, again, it can get cold, not as cold as Winslow, and snowed here like twice.

Anyways, here we go

1. Who is the decent realtor in town to work with?

2. Anyone here work, or have family that works for the prison system? If so, how are the conditions there? How are advancement opprotunities? The prison I currently work in has a larger populaton than the entire incarcerated male population of Montana. How are the benefits, particularly health?

3. How are the schools there? My oldest will be going into Jr. High. The rest are in elementary.

4. Physicians. Are there any kidney specialists in town? I have a child with a kidney disease. That being said, is there a hospital in Butte? He usually has to be hospatiled atleast once a year to get his condition under control if he relapses.

5. Is there a university of community college in or near Butte?

I am sure I will think of more later. Thanks.

with these websites you should be able to find most everything you ever wanted to know about the area.
I would google to find out about hospitals work etc.
You really don't need a realtor you can find a place on your own.
I am here in Kingman also, work for the state as well and have 20.5 acres in Anaconda area to the west of Butte.
Good Luck.
