Welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about Sidney but someone will come along and have a few things to say about it soon. You may get some replies if you have some specific questions about living there or you could do a search of this site (look for the search button) and lots of posts will come up with info about Sidney.

The biggest challenge in Sidney right now is housing. Because it's so close to the oil fields, hotels are very expensive and it can take awhile to find a house or apartment. Check out the two area newspapers..both are online...the Sidney Herald and the Roundup (listed as esidney).

What industry do you work in?

There are some very nice things about Sidney also.
They have a very active Richland County Economic Development group and Chamber of Commerce.
Their mayor is a businessman and works to keep Sidney current. There is an active arts community and the Mondak Arts and Heritage center is GREAT! The schools are good there as well with very family-involved sports teams.

There are a couple of large grocery stores and one large drug store - bigger than a Walgreens, smaller than a Kmart. Close by is Williston ND which has Walmart and other major stores.

Sidney is close to the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers...great for fishing and other water interests; great hunting opportunities. Reasonable distance to the Canadian border...and an hour away from one of my favorite places, the Medicine Lake wildlife refuge with a 99' birding tower!

If you are intending on moving there, this is the time to do it. When oil rig production picks up again after the beginning of the year if things go as predicted, it will be more difficult to get things in place.

I live in Glendive, but am a reporter that covers that area and I'm up there frequently. Let me know if you want to know anything specific.
