The best town with English spoken close to Terebonne is Rosemere (check their website). Some areas of Laval have also strong English communities (Ste Dorothe and Chomedey) but myself I prefer Rosemere.
Actually commuting from Montreal to Terrebonne is not that bad as you are against the traffic, Mont-Royal to Terrebonne in the morning is 30 minutes max. Mont-Royal is a great town to live but is expensive.
As some mentioned West Island is mainly English and there are better towns than Roxboro here, but the commute to Terrebonne is long: 50 km and 45 minutes to one hour.

Thank you! We have actually already focused on Rosemere. It seems like a wonderful town and McCaig Elementary will be a great match for our kids. Our problem has been finding rental homes there. I am not having any luck over the internet. It seems like a town with very few renters (mostly residents in their own homes). Is there a resource I'm not familiar with?

Thank you so much!

You may have to also look at neighboring communities if you cant find anything in Rosemere as Rosemere doesnt lend itself to renting, although there are a few , heres one = http://www.axessrealestate.com/detai....php?ID=AA2664

I am somewhat in the same situation, but not concerned with the language factor at all. My daughter will be attending daycare in Terrebonne. I haven't found a job in Montreal yet so I am free to move anywhere in the area, however, would prefer to find a place in Terrebonne if possible since commutting with a small child can be a nuisance. I wonder if anyone could tell me approximately how long the commute would be from Terrebonne to Montreal during rush hour?
