Finally...a nice, modern place for truckers to stop off I-79. More jobs are created too!

There's a truck stop up in Mt. Morris but it's kind of small and the service station there is just blah and outdated.

From my travels, Pilot always seems to have the cheapest gas as well.

They all seem to be pretty clean and carry a lot of stuff.

I think the location is a natural because it will pick up the southbound traffic from I68, as well as the northbound I79 traffic before you get to Mt. Morris. It gives the area two truck stops one north and the other south. I agree that Pilot usually runs nice places. I think they should put in a Subway there too.

Pilot has a facility near Grantsville on I-68.

I think they sell gasoline from South America, Ceasar Chavez....

at least it will help us have a 'bare minimum pricing competitor in the area.

One thing this is doing is starting to develop/fill in the blank space between Morgantown and Fairmont... something I feel is a natural. I think Mon and Marion counties should work together and develop this area. There is less than 20 minutes driving time between the two towns, and commercial developments between the two could draw from a labor force in both directions.

With Goshen Road the only exit between the 79/68 split and East Fairmont, it would be hard. Maybe make Meadowdale/Smithtown roads wider and that could be used for a neighborhood route.

I think it's only a matter of time. Morgantown is literally bursting at the seams and development in the surrounding areas continues. It just hasn't spread out that much to the south. I think it's a matter of the right people buying the right properties, and of the county commissions of Marion and Monongalia getting together and deciding to do some joint planning and promotion. Shinnston is also ripe for development south of Fairmont.
