It will be another mixed-use project like University Place in Sunnyside. More details will come out soon, hopefully. The location is around and including the Travelodge by Pierpont Apartments off University Ave. Pardon my inability to draw X's on Paint:
Sorry, I forgot to include parcel 83. That means the University will effectively own most of the properties north of Harding and Country Club Drive. I'm excited to see the plans/renderings for the project!
The news release says the figure is $15 million. I'm sure each property owner made a nice return on their property. It would interesting to compare the purchase price to the appraised values.
The property owners are being well paid for their properties. They all agreed to sell.
I guess CT is buddies with a few of the McCoy brothers, makes sense.
The slum lords pinched every last dime out of students for the last 30 years while letting a few of them burn to death and cheating the others, and were successfully able to hold WVU hostage by creating such a blight on Morgantown (West Virginia's first federally designated slum), that WVU had no choice but to reward them for their years of swindling by buying them out just to excise their dangerous homes and associated damaging imagery on the surrounding campus.
True patriots and upstanding citizens in every sense of the word.

Where are you coming up with that stuff? Amazing. I never even mentioned the McCoys.
This will be a nice development with construction costs of $90 million to improve housing for students at the Medical and Evansdale campuses.
