University-Beverly-Third Intersection (garage, budget, parking)

Article in the DP says work will begin on the project in June.

-University Ave is being lowered 5 feet to be level with the other streets
-Beverly widened to 26 or 28ft
-Parking garage entry/exit tied into intersection
-New traffic lights.

With Bev Street being widened and excavation done to University, I wonder if that corner building will stay or be torn down? The budget on this project is $1.7 mil so perhaps there is some earmarked for that purpose.

From what I've heard, that corner building will be coming down. It's an eyesore among eyesores, so I'm not complaining.

I've wanted that building down since I first laid eyes on it. I would assume it would have to come down for increased sight distance, if nothing else. With all the new projects in that area, something was bound to happen to it.
