It's a shame if Atrias is closing.

They really seemed to step up their game. When it first opened, I thought the food was sub par for the price and the service was pretty terrible. I've been there a few times within the past year or so for informal lunch meetings and have always been pretty impressed.

COVID has claimed another restaurant, Golden Coral permanently closed (not surprising) and the building is up for sale or lease.

Looks like Books-a-Million and Pier 1 Imports at Glenmark are closing. Both have going out of business signs up there.

Being forced to close for 2.5 months was the death blow for many businesses on shaky ground. All Pier 1 stores are closing.. higher ups thought the stores could ride it out another 2-3 years but COVID forced their hand with the huge losses.

Yes I was prepared for this but thought I'd share anyway.

Books-A-Million is no longer closing, they were able to renegotiate their lease.

Pier 1 has been in trouble for a long time, long before the pandemic. Their stores are small and their online presence inadequate. They have long had competition online from not just Amazon but also Wayfair and others. In brick and mortar retailers they have competition in home decor from Target, TJ Maxx and evening Walmart and places like Lowe’s and Home Depot.

I’m sorry to see Books a Million go because I love bookstores. It was not that great a bookstore but it was one of the few left.
