I suspect you are correct. I would be surprised if we see any Sears or K-Mart stores left in a few years. Im surprised the one in Elkview came back after the flood but suspect the absence of a Wal-Mart in northern Kanawha is the only reason for that.
From a Morgantown Mall standpoint, it sounds like that road connection could really help- along with ample redevelopment space with the closed anchors could really help. If they could get other draws in there like a higher end bowling alley, fitness club, smaller retailers like Kohls, etc there could be some opportunity.
I like that idea: LA Fitness or another Planet Fitness would be nice, along with a Kohl’s and I like the idea of an upscale bowling alley with a sports bar and arcade (in the style of Dave and Busters) and maybe one or two other stores if there was room.
Bacon, Bourbon, and Beer officially coming to Suncrest Town Center. I know it was covered over the summer but it looks like it might finally be happening.
When I was driving by Fort Pierpont on I68 this morning I noticed lights on in the unfinished portion and some lime green clothed construction workers in there.

Interesting place for a Burger King, you'd think they would build across from the Sheetz since it's much closer to the exit.
yea no doubt, its pretty common in the rest of the country for fast food restaurants to be inside of bigger gas stations and of course truck stops/travel stations on major highways...but yea a gas station that small seems weird.....It was a co-worker that told me, he tried to go in for a slice of their pizza and that part of the store was covered up and he was told they were puttin in a BK.....
