Hello, so we sent in our original small info for pre approval back in Decemeber. By the end of December we got a small packet asking for the usual, bank statements, w2s, rent receipts, home buying coarse certification, all of our info, the whole shabang. I turned in all of our paper work about January 15th. Fast forward to a week ago, they asked for our current taxes (my husband is self employed, that's why). Ok, so now what? I have verified with them funds are available. We haven't even looked at Any houses yet, or contacted a realtor. Because, I'm not wasting anyone's time if they end up deciding to reject us. Our rent history is flawless. Credit score is 730, flawless. My husband has been self employed in the same industry for 14 years. Income of $50k. So still below the direct loan limit. So...what's going on?! The hell are they doing? We literally are just sitting here waiting for a word of anything. They have every shred of information on us. I have personally handed all of our papers to our local USDA office. I have personally spoke with two underwriters in the office. How long does it take just to get the call we are approved for XXX amount? I know we will then have to go in for a small interview and go over their guidelines. Just what the hell! I know it will still be many more months after this even we are approved tomorrow, due to the length in time to close on a house. Ugh. Frustrated. And information is much appreciated.

Which USDA office? You're working with a lender, right?

No, I'm working directly with a USDA office. Located in wareham Massachusetts.

They have never said otherwise that I have to contact a lender. They didn't bat an eye that I'm working with them directly.
