i may recieve a settlement in excess of 250k within the next 6 mos...out of work 3+ yrs....disabled in MVA....home in foreclosure, however, involved in robostamping and bank purchased note from unlicensed broker...should i use settlement to pay off house or walk away, or invest?

Any advice on a re-fi is totally dependent on where you are in your amortization process, and what your current rate is vs. a new one.

And to echo others, obviously other debt should come first (unless you have a crazy low student loan interest rate around 1.6% like me =) ). Then it really depends on how much other liquid assets you have and what your comfortability with your current cash flow is. So yeah, no easy answer without more info.
