It's called Darwin at work. Can't help stupid. Yep, it's their choice but it's still stupid.

years ago i saw someone take a corner and hit the side of a car coming at them that cross the line just a bit. Saw him go airborn, he only had shorts and tennis shoes to protect him when he landed. He made it thru, but needless to say had some serious injuries. Point is he was in his lane, and i'm sure thought he'd be fine that day. And this was on a backroad in WI that had little traffic, long before the time of cell phones..... I couldnt imagine trying that now with all the potential distractions out there

The worst thing I have ever seen was on a highway. A bike going about 50 miles an hour with a child on the back wearing a bicycle helmet. That child must have been no more than 6 and she was hanging on for dear life.

My friend and I just screamed. They didnt crash, but my gosh how stupid can people be.

You can voice your opinion to your friend about how she rides on the Harley but until she actually experiences a consequence from her "attire" on the motorcycle she won't change anything. I guess its the old "lead a horse to water but you can't make em drink" theory. Being a "right fighter" isn't always and easy thing to be. You can see so much wrong and voice an opinion trying to make it right and unless there are consequences felt it will stay the same. Let her go. Hopefully nothing will happen to her and you will save yourself all kinds of stress worrying.

If she wants to be a road crayon, that's her perogative. Just remind her that nothing looks better in short shorts than skin grafts.

For me it's gear. If it's too hot to wear the gear, it's too hot to ride. Period.

As long as i'm moving, i'm good. But, there have been a few days when its been 100+ outside on my ride home that i've considered hanging it up during the hottest parts of summer. Even in a nylon jacket thats not solid, it gets right hot, especially where the armor is!

Getting stuck in traffic in all that sucks though.

If they only allowed lane splitting. How can California be the only place that got that right...?

You got that right.

When we saw them come into the ED (and they have a donor card)... plenty of parts to be harvested. (No flames please, just my observations).

Road crayon... that is the best line I ever heard!
I had to write that one down, so I can use it in the future.

I'm in the DC area...even if I could lane split, there's no way. Too many a$$hole drivers that pull into shoulders or weave lanes. Plus the oddball that would open a door as I'm coming up.
