MSRP for a 2014 Electra Glide Ultra Limited - FLHTK is $25,899 US dollars.

If you pay more than msrp for a bike with first year technology..Well, we can't be friends.

That's one heckuva lot of money, but that's what the CVO Limited is going to run you.

even one with all the extras you can put on it, and tax, it's still not 40,000.

Actually, the suggested list price on the FLHTKSE CVO Ultra Limited is $39,199.

I don't know that there are many extras you COULD put on it, but adding tax & license is going to send you upwards of $45k.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what FLHTKSE is so I googled it and it came up with electra glide ultra so I went on the HD website and built it with all the extras and it came out to like 33k.

It's EXTREMELY difficult to get a straight answer on price from HD. This is from NADA. The $39,199 is the top price they've had reported for the bikes.

One of you is talking about the $26,000 Ultra and one is talking about the $39,000 Ultra CVO.

Right.

Since the OP has not returned to clarify, there's no way to know which motorcycle he was looking at. But it's a good bet to say that nobody marked the $26,000 Ultra up to $40,000.

My point is simply that yes, there really IS a Harley that lists for about $40k.

A friend from work who loves CVO bikes looked at the new $40k bike and was taken back...This is a guy who's purchased a goldwing trike for his wife, a goldwing for him, and a CVO for him, after selling his wife's road king...he's not afraid of spending $$...but 40k seemed a bit excessive for him.
