I always use progressive just because their quotes come back
way less. I dont know how their service is because Ive never made a
claim. Im in FL, and bike dont even need insurance but I got a policy
on a new, financed scooter 'cuz if it gets wrecked or vandalized, I
dont want to be stuck paying for something I dont have or is damaged.
Even a fall-over for a faired bike can go into the 2500 range to fix at
a dealer.
Im paying 240.00 a year on a 7,000 bike, with full comprehensive and
the lowest deductable I could get on the policy
Regardless of what you do, I would start carrying the 'Uninsured Motorist' coverage. There's just too many people running around out there without insurance to not have that coverage. My mother low-sided her bike when an uninsured illegal immigrant ran a red light and nearly creamed her. Her insurance took care of everything because she had that insurance.

Check and see if the coverage you have with your car covers you in this case. Most times it does, so you may not need it twice.
Who does she have insurance with? she with Geico or Progressive?
she has Progressive, and thanks for you concern. because she is a firm believer in ATGATT, she walked away without a scratch. the highway bars she had just installed a couple weeks before DID save her ankle/leg from being crushed, though. she actually rode the bike the rest of the way to work and then home. it was only then that my father looked it over and realized how bad it screwed up the bike. but a couple of weeks at the dealership and a big fat check from the insurance later, it's back on the road.
FWIW, i have my bike insured through GEICO because that's who insures my other vehicles. when i first joined them, i was worried they were just some low-rent company that wouldn't be there when i needed them. not a month after joining, i had my perspective changed big-time. i wrecked my car, another person's car, and sent people to the hospital (thankfully non-life-threatening injuries). they were immediate, thorough, and courteous. i would definitely recommend them.
Imo, if you can eat $3k if the bike is totalled or stolen, just get basic coverage. If you had a new $15k bike, you'd want full coverage.
+1 I wouldn't carry full coverage on a $3000 car so why carry it on a $3000 bike?
I have Geico because, for me, their rate was far cheaper than anyone else.
