So essentially somebody got the idea to rehash Speed but substitute a train for a bus?

A good flick - with a young Rebecca DeMornay. We'll see how this one fairs.

I always love watching movies with trains, as I have a blast picking out the gratuitous operational fallacies. But what the public doesn't know won't hurt 'em.... At least in the theatre.........

I'll check this one out over the weekend. It looks entertaining, and I like Denzel too.

This plot is pretty well rehashed garbage. The old dangerous runaway train filled with dangerous material endangering schoolkids routine. What the heck has happened to Scott? Pelham 123 was awful I had to quit watching within 10 minutes.

As a railfan I'm looking forward to this movie. There have been numerous movies involving trains, been a while since we've had a new one, so this one will be good to see.

Here's an actual video of a train that was blown off the tracks by a tornado, and the very scary image of a tank car loaded with some very nasty stuff coming right at you and you can't stop it. A horror film by any other name.

The film's a sequel to Pelham 123, right?

This movie is (loosely) based on a true story that happened in Ohio. They make it lot more dramatic and have a lot more explosions in the movie but the basic premise really happened. Much more than Speed.

Interesting. I thought this looked familiar. I left the service of CSX in May of 2001. I remember hearing about this incident. Hollywood always makes bigger explosions. Another good one to base a movie on would have been the pile up at the bottom of the Cajon Pass in California. I believe that one happened in the nineties.
