Haven't read this entire thread so if this movie has been mentioned my apologies.
I would recommend the movie Tucker: The Man And His Dream, based on the life of automobile maker Preston Tucker. It was released in 1988 I believe. Jeff Bridges did an excellent job portraying him and there is an interesting storyline about not only making the car but the fight he would have with the "Big Three" (Ford, GM, and Chrysler) who did everything they could to sink him and his company. Good flick! Joan Allen portayed his wife, Martin Landau his business partner, and Mako his head mechanic. And Sen. Homer Ferguson, who was after Tucker right off the get go and who obviously was siding with the "Big Three", was played by Lloyd Bridges, Jeff's father.
As long as I've had cable or the dish I do not recall seeing the movie on any of the movie stations. I still have my VHS tape after all these years, and watched it just the other day.

I've heard such great things about that film, people tell me that I would like it as a history buff...I really need to check it out. Good recommendation
I watched "Tarantula" last night on cable. It has stood up well, probably a more respectable film now than it was in 1955. From the John Agar repertoire, with Mara Corday and Leo G. Carroll, and a tiny uncredited speaking part for Clint Eastwood, with his face almost completely obscured.

Speaking of Eastwood, how 'bout this one?
With Geraldine Page who I don't think has ever been bad..
WARLOCK with Julian Sands, even though iys a little dated, still very good entertainment. Not to be confused with the western, this is about a male witch.
