Its all about the visuals. Its somewhere in between 300(better) and Clash of the titans(worse)
Exactly. All those idiot critics on Rottentomatoes are rating it as if they expect it to have Oscar-winning acting and great accurate Greek mythology. You watch this kind of watch for what's its worth and for the 3D and graphics.
Saw it this past weekend and thought it was better than average. I had been eagerly anticipating it since I found out it was directed by Tarsem Singh, who is fantastic with visuals (see "The Cell" and especially "The Fall"). I think the visuals certainly hold up (although it probably borrowed too heavily from 300 in the slow motion blood & guts scenese), but the story itself causes the movie to sag.

Very visual film..Had a strange, washed out otherworldly feel to it. Other then that was a sword and sandal epic, With Mickey Rourke wearing an ugly beard.
Popcorn flick...Was not expecting Shakespeare. Just eye candy. And it worked fine for that.
