Pet Semetary. Not your typical zombie movie but I still count it as one. The Dawn of the Dead remake was amazingly frightening. The speed at which the zombies ran was terrifying.
Return of the Living Dead is a must see if you're into the zombie sub genre.
Zombieland was good, Dawn of the Dead (originial and remake) were good, the 28 days series was good (and I'm still waiting for 28 Months Later!).
Good calls on Planet Terror and Dead Snow. At this point in time, it's really hard to view anything zombie related as being scary, but hopefully they keep entertaining us for years! Don't fix what's not broken film makers.
This isn't quite a "zombie" movie where the dead become alive, but more of a alien parasite takes over my body and I'm a mindless zombie. If you like horror-comedy, I thought Slither was a hoot, though, it did terribly at the box office. It's very similar (or rip off, if you prefer) to the 80's movie, Night of the Creeps.

Slither is awesome. Gross and absolutely hysterical. Plus, Nathan Fillion.
