If the SW TV show is a hit, I doubt there will ever be 7, 8, 9. If the TV show flops, I'd count on 7, 8, 9.

In my opinion, I think Lucas has gotten too old to do another Star Wars, much less three more.

Maybe someone else will carry the torch. I don't know.

He mentioned he did not want to spend the remainder of his life on another trilogy, Due to the time involved.

The 3 prequels were dreadful, In my opinion. The original films used practical effects and looked way better then the CGI. Hayden Christiansen was not convincing as the young Vader with the overacting. I thought he was going to explode during his scenes where he is yelling at Natalie Portman. Plus Star wars is beloved by many as true classics, Which they are. An original masterpiece is just that for a reason.

I love Star Wars too but not enough to watch it in 3D.

Yes, Star Wars is a lot of fun, but they're not all as good as the first. And I certainly have no interest in 3D.

Stop motion for the win!

The CGI in the prequels was too polished/fake looking. The originals were much more realistic. And stop motion is awesome.

I have no interest in a 3D version of any Star Wars movie. I wish Lucas would stop messing with the films. Bring back the originals in their original format without the "enhancements".

I don't think it's a matter of age so much as Yes Mannery.

When Lucas made the original trilogy, he was still young, hungry, trying to make a great movie, and he had a lot of hoops to jump through with the studio, investors, etc. He had a brilliant producer in Gary Kurtz who was not afraid to tell him no and to push him to do better.

Now, Lucas is rolling money and doesn't have to please anyone except himself, and he has surrounded himself with Yes Men who do nothing but tell him how wonderful he is. They don't criticize him when he needs it.

That's just not a way to creat good art. I don't care who you are. The greatest artists of history (Michelangelo, Mozart, Beethoven) all did their best work when someone was holding them accountable.

The best thing Lucas could do right now is step aside as the creative lead. Find some young, hungry filmmaker and fund his genius.

He was pretty bad, wasn't he?

I hate to say it but I think you're right.

He was, but I don't think it was his fault. Nor do I fault Jake Lloyd or Natalie Portman or any number of others for the lacklustre performances.

Lucas is not an actor's director. Even the cast from the original series (Ford, Fisher, Hamill, etc.) who have nothing but nice things to say about Lucas all freely admit that Lucas is not an actor's director. He knows storytelling. He knows pacing. He sure knows spectacle. But when it comes to giving actors feedback, writing dialogue, finding character motivation, etc., Lucas needs help. On the original trilogy, he got help (Gary Kurtz and others).

With the prequels, Lucas was surrounded by a bunch of people telling him, "That's great, George. Whatever you say, George." He had no criticism.

Some very good advice:

"If you're in charge and you don't know what you're doing, surround yourself with people who do know what they're doing and lead them. If you're in charge and you do know what you're doing, surround yourself with smart people who disagree with you."

EVERY president we've ever had or will have should heed these words.
