I don't think some people understood my point. I love the songs in this film. All of them. "Beauty School Dropout" is even one of my favorites. And when I hear them now it takes me back to that magic time when I first heard them and saw the film.

But listening to them too many times can have the effect of making them tiresome if you have watched it as many times as I have.

I still think it's a good film, even aside from just the musical parts. But I'll admit that I will never get past it without at least listening to "Grease (is the word)" or "Greased Lightning."

How do you feel about the movie? Can you still watch it with the music? Or do you prefer to watch it without?
I love the music and the movie. Without the music it is just a romantic comedy.

As I've gotten older I really love the theme song, but when I was a kid, I didn't like it. Also the lyrics to 'greased lightening' are kind of dirty, LOL, didn't realize that either as a kid.
It's crazy how many times I sang and danced to that song as a kid and had NO clue at all! A friend of mine was the first in town, pretty sure, to get a VCR and we watched Grease over and over and over. We even had pink satin jackets. I am sure her mother had no idea about the words to that song either or it would have never happened!

Isn't the theme done by the Bee Gees? If so it is the one I don't like. Maybe I am remembering wrong.

"Grease" was written by one of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb, but it was performed by Louis St. Louis

I don't fast forward through any of the songs. In fact I'll fast forward to the songs. Right this second I feel like singing..."u don't remember me but I remember u. Was not so long ago u broke my heart in two." Lol love that song. I like raining on prom night too

The songs people skip through the most will one day become their favorites, as a result of missing them for so long.

So "Cheer Up Charlie" will one day be my favorite song from Willy Wonka? I seriously doubt it.
