The trivia:

"The fight between Nada (Roddy Piper) and Frank (Keith David) was only supposed to last 20 seconds, but Piper and David decided to fight it out for real, only faking the hits to the face and groin. They rehearsed the fight for three weeks. Carpenter was so impressed he kept the 5 minute and 20 second scene intact."
That's what I was going to say, this obviously is the best MvM. F***ing epic.

I too am going with Charlton Heston and Gregory Peck in "The Big Country" - great scene, I never tire of watching. I like all of Van Damme's fights too. Charles Bronson in "Hard Times" was great as well.

In terms of Male v Female or Female v Female, I haven't a clue. Guess I don't consider these real fights.

Somebody already mentioned War of the Roses for the man vs woman category... so I'll mention Hugh Jackman vs Kelly Hu in X-Men 2.

You beat me to it!

Hard Times is one of my favorite Bronson films, and one of my favorite films, period.

Bronson was in his early fifties when he made this movie, and his physique is, to say the very least, inspiring.

Everyone should watch this great film at least once. Set during the Depressoin, Bronson plays a drifter who goes by "Chaney" (which may or may not be his real name), who literally fights to eat. Real life friend James Coburn plays his de facto "agent."

(Regarding the clip below, do not watch "Fight 2 of 2" because it's the final fight in the film.)

They Live was truly a great fight I had forgotten about. When I first saw the question though, I immediately thought of John Wayne vs Victor McGlagen in "The Quiet Man".

Yeah I know get over it lol. But this ONE take & very realistic. There are other fight scenes I can't think of a really great girl fight, at least not off the top of my head. The only one that comes is the fight between
Letty & Rhonda in F&F 7.
