Apparently dirt and grime have been entirely eliminated from the future, even in dystopian collapsed societies where everyone has to die at age 30.

It would take STAR WARS a couple of years later to show that science fiction societies should still have a "lived in" look.

Well duh, obvi they all had Roombas and air filters!!

It was an isolated community. They had no idea that there was an outside world and never heard of grime. It was a controlled atmosphere.

Still a fantastic movie.

Did any of you see "The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue"? It was an X-rated movie that was supposed to be based on "Logan's Run".

They should remake Zardoz, The incredible melting man, Slipstream and Food of the gods!

Heh. When I was 5 years old, my dad took me to see Pete's Dragon in a theater packed with other kids my age. The theater attendant accidentally loaded The Incredible Melting Man into the reel. Definitely not the Disney we were expecting.

For those of you that might have never heard of it, Logan's Run is a science fiction movie from the 1970s about people that live in a domed city of the future and everybody is under the age of 30. I don't want to give any spoilers, nor is that a quote, I didn't want to give a description that might be copyrighted.

The special effects of the day weren't bad. However, with a modern day production I think the effects would be pretty kewl. Is anybody else waiting for this cult classic? And what other remakes either announced or not you are waiting for or would like to see?

Hell Yeah!

Logan's Run was one of my first...if not my very first...exposure to dystopia!

Yeah, because I could read them, I came to love A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, 1984, and FAHRENHEIT 451 more (and to a lesser degree, BRAVE NEW WORLD), but LOGAN'S RUN will always have a special place in my heart.

Zardoz is an amazing example of what I was hoping for in this thread.

I have actually looked for The incredible melting man and could never find it.

FOOD OF THE GODS! I loved this one when I was young. A cheepy with basic effects, but it had an undefinable quality to it, and what a great last shot!
