What movies left you with a sense of awe--a sense of having experienced something awesomely wonderful...or awfully terrible--that you'd never contemplated in that way before?

For me--and a lot of this had to do with the context of when the movies were first run:

2001: A Space Odyssey.
Star War: A New Hope
Jurassic Park

Movies that left me so speechless, I sat in silence at their conclusions and took a couple of minutes to marvel at how great they were: Memento, 12 Angry Men, Se7en, Goodfellas, The Sting.

Movies that left me the most distraught in terms of expectations going into them: The Graduate, There Will Be Blood, Rebel Without a Cause, Dr. Strangelove, Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Rear Window, Apocalypse Now, Chinatown, Raging Bull, The Third Man, The Wild Bunch, A Streetcar Named Desire, Once Upon a Time in America. None of them did it for me.

Jurassic Park
A Clockwork Orange
The Exorcist
Kill Bill I (Not so much II)

Awe is a special word...for me it signifies beauty, holiness, depth...in a movie
a quality that changes your heart and soul to see the world around you
in a new light.
So let me think about it...good question.

I was in awe watching Avatar. Just so beautiful. I was in awe watching Jurassic Park because it was just so groundbreakingly awesome!

I was in awe watching The Human Centipede because I just couldn't believe a movie like this was allowed to be made.

1. Titanic- I was in college when it came out...I was in love with Leo!
2. Black Christmas(1974) it was pure genius!
3. Se7en-Just terrible and awesome at the same time.

There are several, but my memory isn't what it once was, so I just mention what comes to mind instantly.

Jurassic Park
Transformers I, I'll never forget how much I enjoyed that first experience of seeing those robots shift and change. That was so much fun to watch, my eyes still get such a kick out of it.
LOR, the first one. A visual feast.

I'm sure as others make mention of their list, I will recall more.

movies awed me more when I was a kid, I remember coming out of movie theater feeling all pumped and awed. But as I grew older I don't get that feeling anymore
