Kind of think Christopher Reeve is spinning in his grave.

It was all action and CGI, no depth or substance.

Russell Crowe was good I admit, but I expected him to kill Commmodus at the end.

It was nothing special.

I liked that they gave the Kryptonians weakness.

I noticed that they "Marvelized," or even more specifically "Spidermanned" the character by giving him guilt over his father's death. To me it rang a bit false...anyone would have saved their dad in that situation.

Making Superman a killer was just unconscionable, even given the circumstances. It is a betrayal to his fans.

Yeah, CGI is CGI. it never looks quite right. And a lot of the action was of the MTV jump cut variety to where you never really get a good sense of time or space.

Lois Lane was not terribly attractive. I'll take Terri Hatcher, thank you.

I enjoyed the film and the story having Clark as a conflicted drifter, Though the CGI, Esp the sky tentacles got a bit cheesy toward the end. And the ending was a bit anti-climatic.Still worth watching though.

It thankfully eased the pain of the dreadful 2006 Superman returns with Brandon Routh. Producers must have been drunk when letting that one go to theaters. Even the Street fighter movie from the 90's was more exiting.

I loved the first half of the movie. The last half ... not so much. Too much quantity. Not enough quality.

I liked MOS, but today I watched the original Christopher Reeve Superman and found myself missing Chris.

Chris was a great actor in everything he did Superman included. I watched Village of the dammed last year from the 90's and he was great in that one too.

Didn't know there was a remake of VOTD... I'll have to check that out. Thanks.

Worth a watch for sure. It's directed by John Carpenter. I actually bought a set of his films which included the latter, And also The Thing, They Live and the underrated Prince of Darkness with Donald Pleasance and Alice Cooper! Prince of Darkness was weird and unique. If I could direct one film remake it would be this one, As a few scenes were a bit cheesy but a great film regardless.

I kinda agree with you although I liked the flashbacks to his childhood and I liked the scenes where he was a drifter.

Sadly though, no one can really match the charm and charisma of Christopher Reeve. I love the romantic elements to the story too but this go around was a bit blah. I still enjoyed the movie but it didn't have the charm of the other ones.
