The Monuments Men was OK.

Lone Survivor was really good.

Not quite.

Lone Survivor made almost 150 million dollars world wide box office gross, about 125 million of that from the U.S. box office. Film budget was around 40 million.

Monuments Men actually made more money than Lone Survivor, world wide gross about 154 million, about 78 million in US box office. Film budget around 70 million.

haven't seen Monuments Men but Lone Survivor was annoying because of the added firefights and hollywoodization that never actually happened.

Haven't seen Monuments Men, but I just saw Lone Survivor last night and it was good. I could care less what critics and box office receipts say about a movie. I can make up my own mind about it. And making a two-hour film about an event is going to need a little Hollywoodization to tell the story.

Didn't like Lone Survivor either, just like I didn't like Argo.

There's taking certain liberties with the truth in order for dramatic purposes, and then there's just making stuff up in an attempt to make a movie more 'exciting.'

Directors like Berg and Affleck, and Hollywood in general, seem to have so little faith in the intelligence of the American movie going public, that they think they have to put in extravagant gun fights, explosions, and all out battle sequences in order for Americans to like a movie and hold their interest for two plus hours.

What, the actual true story wasn't good enough?

I actually rolled my eyes multiple times during the last part of Lone Survivor.

Excuse me, but if you're going to the trouble of posting in a forum about movies, I'd really expect better than just saying something is "OK' or "really good."

Perhaps you'd like to try reading some reviews, to get you primed for posting something a little more thoughtful.

Two things about Lone Survivor:

1. How can anybody fall again and again down a mountainside as depicted, yet still be able to walk?

2. The U.S. soldiers could get shot multiple times with 7.62, yet still function. However, the Taliban soldiers would get shot ONCE with 5.56, yet drop instantly.
