I suggest you get out the DVD player:

If you have not seen them lately:
  • "The Patriot"
  • "Independance Day"
  • "Saving Private Ryan"

And if you have never seen it, I highly recommend: "Yankee Doodle Dandy" <--- A great Cagney flick!
And for those who want to relive the story of America over the past 50 years. "Forrest Gump"

I have seen all of those you mentioned except Yankee Doodle Dandy, they are all great.

You could probably add Miracle on Ice to that list.

Miracle on Ice... Is Hockey winter?

As for YDD - it is a great movie, but you have ot me open to:
  1. the fact that it is old
  2. that it is a Musical
  3. that it is black and white
  4. and that James Cagney can dance!

It's interesting that studios are quick to often bring out movies for Halloween, for instance - but very rarely anything for the Fourth. Kind of pathetic.

Personally, I don't think Independence Day has much of anything to do with the Fourth, and people might do better with 1776, which isn't a brilliant movie, but at least it has more to do with the subject at hand.
